  2. I'm British and one thing we are really fussy about here, is where and who our food comes from. We talk about food miles, if it's more than 10 miles, then it's too far. We can buy raw milk, unpasturised, if we want to. We can buy unpasturised cheese, organic free range meat and eggs, local in season vegetables and locally caught fish. We want sustainable organic local food and we want to be able to see the farm where food is produced so a lot of us, including me, buy from farm shops, direct from the farmer. European law prohibits the import of American meat because of antibiotics in the meat, we can't buy American vegetables of any kind due to prohibited pesticides, even American jerky, that tourists bring back is confiscated and destroyed by border control. So, if the EU, thinks most of your food is unsafe, what the heck are you all eating? p.s this is not an anti-American post by any means, I'm with the farmers who want to do their job sustainably and ethically, and for the Americans who want natural food and feel all Americans should have the same right to healthy food that I have - love frugal queen xx
